Excellence in Dentistry with a Heart for Service

Dr. Rachel Filice graduated with honours from Western University with a Bachelor of Medical Science and received her Doctor of Dental Surgery with honours from the University of Toronto in 2018. As an accomplished student, Dr. Rachel received the Proficiency Award from The Ontario Dental Association, recognizing her high academic achievement, developed clinical skills, and involvement in extracurricular activities. She was also invited to join the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honour Dental Society—an organization that represents the highest achievements in dental scholarship, professionalism, and ethics—and was awarded the Dean’s Gold Medal at her graduation ceremony.  Rachel cares for her patients and about her ability to give back. In 2017 she had the privilege of visiting Cambodia, where she volunteered with six colleagues to provide dental treatment to communities in the rural province of Kampong Chhnang.

Comprehensive Care for Patients of All Ages

Dr. Rachel is passionate about providing care to patients of all ages. She enjoys teaching her little patients about "Sugarbug Doug" and how to keep him away. In addition, she has a key interest in the growth and development of children's jaws, airway and occlusion/bite and uses myofunctional orthodontic techniques to ensure the proper development of these areas. Dr. Rachel is excited to provide several services for adults including clear aligner therapy, implants, and same-day CEREC crowns. She is a certified Invisalign and Suresmile provider and completed the T.I.D.E. Comprehensive Implant Residency in 2021. Dr. Rachel is a member of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, the Canadian Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry and the Hamilton Dental Study Club.

Continued learning and education is one of Dr. Rachel’s top priorities;  She stays up to date to offer the highest level of dental care to her patients. Dr. Rachel attended her first course at the world renowned Kois Centre for Dental Research and Occlusal Training. In 2023 Dr. Rachel traveled to Seattle and spent a total of 47 hours over 5 days learning the latest research and techniques in functional occlusion. In February 2025 she continued her studies at the Kois centre to further advance her skills and knowledge in periodontal and restorative dentistry.

Family, Adventure & Passion for Dentistry

Outside of work, Dr. Rachel loves spending time with her husband, Kimesh and their baby boy, Jace. She loves to travel, hike, and swim. Rachel is excited to work alongside her father again and the entire Filice Dentistry team.
